Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, would have to pay a political price for deceiving the public on the cypher issue. He also embarrassed the nation and parliament, according to Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday.
In an interview, Imran said, “As far as I’m concerned, it’s over, it’s behind me. The Pakistan I want to lead must have good relationships with everyone, especially the United States.”
Asif made the remark in response to Imran Khan’s U-turn from his stance on the cypher issue during his speech to the National Assembly. “You cannot absolve yourselves by just saying it’s all over and now it is behind me,” Asif said.
According to the minister, Imran repeatedly claimed that rulers took away “Haqeeqi Azadi” from the Pakistani people. And also waived a fake document in a public meeting, referring to it as a cypher. Asif claimed that the PTI leader referred to the overthrow of his government as a conspiracy. Later, Khan associated it with Washington in order to install an “imported” government.
Asif said that instead of letting Imran off the hook, the country should hold him responsible for misleading them. PTI leader misled nation in the name of “conspiracy” and spreading the word about it everywhere.
Khawaja also criticised the superpower with which Pakistan had a 70-year relationship. The minister claimed that the former premier played with the fate and dignity of the natwork.
He repeatedly said, “Imran will pay political price for his sayings and also he is considered accountable as per the Constitution.”
“Now is the time the nation and the Parliament seized Imran by the neck,” Asif thundered. “There is a long list of corrupt practices during his three and a half years of rule. The highest office of prime minister was involved in theft of precious wrist watches from Toshakhana,” he said.
Asif said it’s unfortunate that despite Imran’s statement, many people continued to hold him in high regard as an ethical individual and a man of strong beliefs. He claimed that Imran had not only changed his position but was also pleading for help inside Pakistan as well as in front of the US.
” Imran Khan wants both foreign and domestic backing to keep his political dreams going,” he said. He said Imran’s political life was full of contradictions. Khan could not keep his stance on any issue for more than a few weeks or months.
Asif said the National Assembly threw Imran’s government out. National Assembly brought a new government into power through the use of vote but Imran termed the whole exercise an ‘international conspiracy’ and the government an imported one.
He lamented that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, as well as Asif Ali Zardari and his sister, had defied tradition and went to jail during their tenure for false accusations against Nawaz Sharif.
“I was also indicted under Article 6. It has never happened to any politician,” he said. While speaking to media outside the parliament building, the Defense Minister revealed that Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif will appoint the next army chief because it is his constitutional discretion and authority, News reports.
“The prime minister can appoint a secretary of war at his discretion. So he decides on the appointment,” he said in response to a question.
Reporters asked further about PMLN Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s role in appointing him as chief of army. Khawaja Asif replied that it was “at the prime minister’s discretion” and that he would decide.
When reporters asked that was he not consulting Nawaz Sharif on the matter, the minister said, “Consultations did not start yet on the army chief’s appointment. These are just newspaper reports.” “Imran denies everything. In the past four years, he has talked so much. Has he stood by any of his statements? If it is the first time he has denied something?”
“He himself does not remember the state he is in and what he says. He said yesterday that the FIR of his murder is still not registered. This man does not know what he says. “If some people are ready to believe his words, they can,” Khawaja Asif said commenting on Imran’s contradictory statements.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif said Monday night that Imran Khan’s refutation of foreign conspiracy theories is a reminder of his nefarious role in damaging Pakistan’s diplomatic relations while pursuing his own petty policies. Said it was something.
He said Imran’s deception and betrayal caused irreparable damage to Pakistan. In response to Imran Khan’s “turnaround” on the cryptographic issue, his Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Monday that it was not the end of the matter. She further said that he had to take responsibility.
The minister accused Imran of lying and unconstitutional and said he withdrew from American conspiracy theories after the country collapsed. “Imran treated his followers like madmen and sheep and goats. He left behind a tale of American intrigue, import governments and regime change. It is fully visible. Imran seriously endangered Pakistan’s diplomatic relations. He did it for the sake of power. He also played serious games for the interests of the country out of his lust for power,” she argued.
